JC celebrates successful franchisees in summit event

Rarely do we mention the potential of franchising – when we talk about start-ups and entrepreneurship – not just as a way of starting new enterprises in the economy but also as a way of expanding current ones.

Franchising – an act of granting a license by one person to another – allows individuals to own, run, and direct their businesses. It is one of the simplest and profitable forms of business venture that often offers low capitalization business requirements, running on a proven system, has low risks and high success rates even for someone who is a newbie in the field of business, all while projecting a reasonably fast return on investment.

JC – as a company that not only helps individuals have a healthy and balanced lifestyle but also provides people the opportunity to grow financially – paved the way for those who wanted to jump into the franchising industry and make their source of living.

It is also committed to uplifting the welfare of its distributors, employees, and franchisees by providing them with a satisfactory working environment and a generous compensation plan.

To celebrate the success of the Filipino franchisees under JC’s group of companies, the company held a Mid-Year Franchise Summit event last June 19, at the Metrotent Convention Center, where it was attended by hundreds of the company’s franchisees.

Serving as its first-ever franchise summit, the event was aimed to commend its businesses’ franchisees for being able to make a difference in their lives, as well as to inspire their co-franchisees through their success stories.

With a talk show-themed summit, panel moderators Rene Ayson, Franchise Development Director, and multi-awarded Franchise Consultant Anne Bacho, joined JC’s Assistant Director for Franchise Development Jeffrey Ang.

Franchisees from different levels and categories – whose lives were changed due to the franchising business! – were present to share their success stories.

The first batch of panelists featured Gen Z franchisees, showing that being young does not hinder one from being successful.

Part of the Gen Z panel are Lila Topacio, a 22-year-old Marketing Student; Wade Anthonie Sonza, a 17-year-old 4th year high school student; Kristelle Santos, a 24-year old fresh graduate; and 22-year-old Reynell Isanan.

These Gen Z franchisees shared what inspired them to start, the challenges they often encounter, and their advice to fellow youngsters who are also into online franchise businesses, among others.

With hard work and determination – all still while balancing their studies! – these Gen Zs continuously reach their goals, supporting not only their studies but at an early age, were also able to help their families financially, all thanks to their franchise business.

The second panel was joined by franchisees who were former corporate employees.

Their category was joined by Lester Cruz, a former appliance salesman; KM Pinos, a former flight attendant; Ethel Macahilig who worked as a BDO Bank employee for 15 years; and Louise Abayan, an ex-international flight attendant for almost two years in Saudi Arabia.

While transitioning from being an employee to a full-time entrepreneur may seem like a luck of the draw, these franchisees are living proof that success is surely achievable. They shared how franchising changed their lives for the better, all while fulfilling their dreams.

For the third category, former OFWs MJ Guirgio, Melanie Cruz, Carl Monreal, and Suzanne Manalastas joined the panel to share how they manage their time and how franchising changed their lives.

According to them, their lives have changed financially ever since they started being franchisees. The four guests even shared some secrets on how to succeed in franchising during these trying economic times. They also inspired the audience on the fruits of their labor with purchases and investments incurred through their respective franchise businesses. With their current venture, they no longer need to be separated from their loved ones by working abroad.

The last panel included businessmen Suhair Abangon, Daisy Gulez, and John Iry Sta. Maria, because of their franchise income, was able to sustain their existing businesses, all thanks to the additional cash flow coming from their respective franchise ventures.

When asked what positive impact franchising has on their lives, all of them agreed on one thing: that they’re less stressed and have more time to do the things that they want, while most of the time, spending it with their families and loved ones.

The event will not be complete if it was not graced by the presence of the two young tycoons who are the reasons behind the success of JC’s exceptional franchisees: People’s Asia awardees and Entrepreneurs of the year, Jonathan So and Carlito Macadangdang.

From business magnates Mr. So and Mr. Macadangdang, Ms. Anne and Mr. Ran, up to JC’s thriving franchisees, such stories prove that with the smartest decisions and wisest moves, we can also be as successful as they are only if we don’t limit ourselves from the many possibilities.
